Hare & Hounds Pub

The Hare and Hounds, Withington

Great news... The Hare & Hounds is now a freehouse as the Buswell family have bought the pub from Admiral Taverns.
 
The roof has been replaced, the bar has been redecorated and the patio and front of the pub have been tidied up.

In the meantime we can expect to see the same familiar faces behind the bar and maybe some different beers. Let's support the new owners!

The Hare & Hounds is Withington’s lively and popular village pub. Food is served on Friday and  Sunday lunchtime, with roasts and traditional pub meals being the speciality.
 
There is a large car park, and disabled access is available.

The gent's toilet has some unusual and amusing murals...
 
 
These were painted a few years ago and feature regulars of the time.

The Hare & Hounds Rounders team, superbly captained by Dave "safe hands" Buswell, won the Sunday Funday Cup in May 2011.

 
Shrewsbury Bottle Club
A bottle club meet the last Wednesday of each month, so if you've got an interesting bottle you would like to know a bit more about, why not take it to them to see if you've got a Codds Wallop or just something fit for recycling?

2012 Christmas Knock out Results

The belated Christmas Darts & Dominoes knock out competitions took place on Monday 18th February. And the winners were...
 
Darts - Pete Dulson came out of retirement to win the darts competition beating Alan Edwards, Adam Almark and then Jon Scutt in the final.
 
Dominoes - Bill Phillips won the dominoes competition beating Dave Buswell, Phil Bunce and then Alan Edwards in the final.
 
Thanks to everyone that came and made it a good fun evening.

The Buswell family have taken over ownership of the Hare & Hounds from Admiral Taverns the brewery that owned it before.  
 
The really good news is you'll still see the same familiar, friendly faces behind the bar! And Dave is determined to make improvements to make it a real community pub - so why not pop in and support your local?
 
Now it is a freehouse, they are no longer restricted to selling what the brewery could supply, so if you have a favourite tipple have a word with the barstaff and they will see if they can meet your needs.
