Have you ever needed to find a trader to do home improvement work, but don’t know where to start? Do the stories about builders from hell, or jobs going wrong scare you too much to even think about getting that new bathroom fitted or replacement windows?

Well, worry no more, help and advice is at hand thanks to a new scheme brought to you by the trading standards Services working in partnership. It is called the the Shropshire, Telford &Wrekin Trader Register. There are already 400 traders on the Register, and it’s growing all the time. The scheme aims to signpost consumers to traders who, whilst not approved by Trading Standards, have all signed up to an agreed code of practice and a commitment to good customer service.

If any problems or disputes arise between the consumer and the trader, the traders have committed to work with Trading Standards to agree a solution. In choosing a trader from the register,you are making an important first step towards achieving the repair or building work you want.
